Wales Cycle Breaks Guides

Description

Each one of Ceredigion's Wales Cycle Breaks Centres features sets of day cycling routes offering laid back cycling based around welcoming holiday areas. Routes from Ceredigion's Wales Cycle Breaks Centres have been specially designed to provide:

Waymarked routes suitable for cyclists of most abilities and age groups;
Routes visiting interesting destinations through some of the greenest landscapes in Wales;

Cardigan is the historic key gateway into Ceredigion from Pembrokeshire. In 1176 Rhys ap Gruffydd, one of the last native princes, held the first recorded Eisteddfod - the uniquely Welsh competitive arts festival - at his castle here. A local heritage centre tells the tale of Cardigan's proud history and the Theatr Mwldan Arts Centre offers a year-round programme of quality stage and film productions, art and craft exhibitions.

To the south lie the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Preseli Hills, where Stonehenge Bluestones were quarried. The Cardigan Bay coast is bejewelled with spectacular National Trust lands, award-winning beaches and a resident population of dolphins, porpoise and seals.
